[Maitland, Florida] — The Sound of Sunshine Chorus, a proud chapter of Sweet Adelines International since 1977, continues to empower women of all ages and backgrounds through musical education, harmony, and community outreach. Dedicated to the art of four-part a cappella harmony, the chorus enriches lives and fosters connections throughout the Central Florida region.

Comprised of women from diverse musical and personal backgrounds, the Sound of Sunshine Chorus offers a vibrant, supportive environment where members come together to create, learn, inspire, and share their passion for music. The chorus is committed to promoting personal growth, leadership, and lifelong friendships through the shared joy of singing.

The chorus was originally founded under the direction of Nancy Lewis, who served as director from its inception in 1977 until her retirement in 2017. Following Ms. Lewis’ distinguished tenure,, Gayle Burton assumed the role of director. Under Ms. Burton’s dynamic leadership, the Sound of Sunshine Chorus has achieved regional and international recognition, consistently earning top 2 placements in competitive events.

In addition to its competitive success, the Sound of Sunshine Chorus performs regularly at public events, private functions, and community celebrations, inspiring audiences with its vibrant and uplifting performances.
