Gayle is the director of Sound of Sunshine, where she holds the Sweet Adelines title of Master 600 Director. This award is given to a director whose chorus has scored 600-699 points at a Regional or International Sweet Adelines contest. In 2024 she led her chorus to the Sweet Adelines International Harmony Classic where they received a 2nd Place Medal. Prior to joining SOS as their director, she was an assistant director at Toast of Tampa, Spirit of the Gulf, and Pride of Baltimore. And has performed in many regional champion quartets, professional, classical, choral and vocal jazz ensembles.

She joined Sweet Adelines in 1988 and has competed with choruses and quartets at the international level, including the Rich Tones, Pride of Baltimore, Toast of Tampa, and The Spirit of the Gulf as well as several quartets.

Last summer her quartet Shine! placed 2nd in the 2024 Sweet Adelines International Diamond Division contest!

When she is not singing barbershop, she sings with the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park and Harmonia of Orlando Sings
